Meet Landon:
Landon was full of love and care for others throughout his life. He would give anything that he had to help someone out. There was a time, in second grade, when he gave a classmate his new tennis shoes because the classmate had outgrown his and could not afford a new pair. Landon was also active to help others as he grew. A good example of this was when he jumped in to help build a ramp for a family in need that he had never met. He truly found joy in seeing others happy.
Landon was active in sports and church throughout his life. At one point when he was young, he thought he might want to be a preacher. He was allowed to preach a short message one Sunday evening when he was 8 years old comparing our hearts to snow. He knew that sin caused dirt making our hearts look like dirty snow but God could make it all white again. He loved all sports when he was younger and participated in soccer, track, baseball and basketball. As he grew older, football and wrestling were his favorites.
Landon cared about his family and friends as well. As his mom, I could count on daily hugs and him calling to check to see how my day was going. He did not mind cooking dinner and would text me while I was finishing up work to let me know that dinner was ready. Landon grew up admiring his brother, Kaleb, and truly looked up to him for strength and admired his athletic abilities. Landon loved his dad and was working with him at the time that he passed away. They spent every day together and Landon loved learning from his dad, that is a special bond right there. Landon also loved his girlfriend, Emily, with his whole heart. His newest favorite song was "To Be Your Man" by Don Williams, it was off of the sound track from Smoky and The Bandit II. He was a young man with an old soul. Landon left no doubt of his love for others. He would make his great grandpa say "I love you too" before he would leave him. That was not in the vocabulary of that 90 year old man but Landon brought it out. We miss him beyond words but want to continue to share his special love and kindness with our community.
